| Attention all Medicare billers and suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetic, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS). The Jurisdiction B Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC) Provider Outreach and Education staff is pleased to announce the 2008 Medicare 201 Seminars Reaching New Heights.
|
| |
| The 2008 Medicare 201 Seminars are geared towards more advanced DMEPOS suppliers and billing staff. These one day seminars are an excellent resource to build upon your existing Medicare knowledge and gain additional understanding of the most integral parts of documentation and billing requirements for Medicare. The following topics will be discussed: |
| |
Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN)
What is the significance of having a signed ABN? When is it appropriate to issue an ABN? The Advance Beneficiary Notice segment of this seminar will assist you in answering both of these questions. Increase your understanding of the limitations of liability to protect your business financially and assist your patients in making a fully informed decision about their healthcare. |
| |
Documentation Requirements
There are seven general principles of documentation for DMEPOS items. Does your documentation measure up? Documentation Requirements will guide you through the documentation process, the distinguishing differences between medical records and medical necessity documentation, responding to documentation requests and provide a time saving approach to securing pertinent documentation up front. |
| |
Modifiers: A to Z
Incorrect use of modifiers can be costly and time consuming. Modifiers: A to Z will expand on your existing knowledge of modifiers and when to use them. Attendees will receive detailed instructions on the submission of modifiers, the difference between a pricing modifier and an informational modifier and tips to avoid costly payment delays. |
| |
Medicare Updates
Get up-to-date information on the changes within the Medicare program and the Jurisdiction B DME MAC.
