National Government Services Medicare Part B Carrier New Provider Basic 101 Seminars On-Line Registration
The National Government Services Inc. Medicare Part B Provider Outreach and Education department is offering new Provider Basic 101 seminars throughout the states of Indiana and Kentucky in May and June 2008. This is a great learning experience for individuals who are new to the Medicare program or seasoned staff that may want a refresher course. We encourage providers to register early as seating is limited. Providers can mail their registration or register online. We suggest retaining a copy of this brochure to serve as your reference about seminar details.
Morning registration begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. The seminar begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m. There will be a break for lunch from 12:00–1:00 p.m. (lunch is included). Cost is $65 per attendee.
This program/publication/subscription/etc. has prior approval of the American Academy of Professional Coders for four continuing education units. Granting of this approval in no way constitutes the academy’s endorsement of the program, content or the program sponsor.

This course can also serve as a refresher course for anyone billing Medicare Part B.
Help participants understand the Medicare program
Explain how to become a Medicare Part B provider, obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI), and the advantages to participation
Describe Medicare Part B reimbursement and payment floor
Explain the difference between national coverage determinations and local coverage determinations
Assist participants in understanding the provider remittance advice
Review the appeals process
Explain benefits of electronic data interchange transactions with Medicare
Furnish participants with a variety of post seminar education resources and look at the newly redesigned National Government Services Web site

Cancellations must be made in writing or if paying online using the online cancellation form. A full refund will be provided if requested five business days prior to the date of the seminar. Refunds will not be provided to no shows, nor will they be provided due to inclement weather conditions.
